After participating in only three minutes during the season-opening victory against Elon, Wake Forest’s sophomore forward Zach Keller entered the game against Georgia with 14:49 remaining. This occurred as the Deacs were trailing by four in a challenging away game.
Wake Forest guard Hunter Sallis passed the ball to Keller on the wing just beyond the 3-point line at the 14:17 mark. However, Keller appeared uncertain about the next move. Approximately five seconds later, with his defender sagging, Keller looked to his left without noticing that Georgia’s Blue Cain had abandoned Sallis to strip the ball away. The ball was knocked toward the midcourt sideline, and although Cain hustled to retrieve it, Keller did not react quickly enough. Cain managed to lunge around Keller, seize the ball, and complete a layup for Georgia.
Less than a minute later, Keller was benched and did not re-enter the game. The Deacs ultimately fell 80-77, and Keller’s playing time was limited to just a single minute, with the only recorded statistic being the turnover.
