Winger signs with Lithuanian club after Southampton exit

Following his exit from the Saints academy last summer, winger Fedel Ross-Lang has secured a club in Lithuania.

Since his contract expired at St. Mary’s in July, the 20-year-old winger Fedel Ross-Lang has been without a club, departing Southampton after three years, having initially joined from Manchester City. Ross-Lang played a significant role in Southampton’s Under-18 Premier League South triumph during the 2021-22 season. However, his opportunities were limited, making only a few substitute appearances for the under-21s side in Premier League 2 last season.

Now, Ross-Lang has found a new opportunity with Lithuanian second-division team FK Tauras, located in Taurage. Although Tauras previously competed in Europa League qualifiers in 2010 and 2011, they were eliminated by APOEL and ADO Den Haag. Earlier this season, Ross-Lang reportedly had a trial with League One club Bristol Rovers as he searched for a new club.

Former head coach Mikey Harris praised Ross-Lang’s contributions ahead of the Under-18 Premier League final against Manchester City in 2022. Harris acknowledged Ross-Lang’s significant impact, highlighting his crucial goals and assists throughout the season. He expressed regret over Ross-Lang’s absence due to injury and emphasized his importance to the team, especially considering his signing from Manchester City.
