Will Smallbone excited to learn from John O’Shea and Brian Kerr, says it’s been a great balance.

Will Smallbone, only five years old during Brian Kerr’s last senior Ireland international, has relished the opportunity to interact with the 71-year-old, who recently returned to the management set-up for Ireland’s commendable 0-0 draw against Belgium.

Kerr received a warm reception from the Lansdowne Road crowd, and Smallbone appreciates the Dubliner’s influence as a technical adviser to interim head coach John O’Shea and his team.

Smallbone commended Kerr’s contribution, noting his valuable insights drawn from a wealth of experience. He recounted a particularly inspiring speech delivered by Kerr before the game, emphasizing the significance of his wisdom for the coaching staff. Alongside learning from Kerr, Smallbone has been keen to absorb knowledge from O’Shea, describing the camp atmosphere as “very positive” ahead of the upcoming match against Switzerland.
