Crystal Palace didn’t land Ryan Sessegnon this summer, with Oliver Glasner reportedly making the decision.
On Thursday, Crystal Palace missed out on signing Ryan Sessegnon on a permanent deal after having him on trial for several weeks. Sessegnon, who left Spurs for free last month, is returning to Fulham, leaving many puzzled given he had already featured in friendlies for Palace.
The decision to pass on Sessegnon was made by Palace head coach Oliver Glasner. Despite initial appearances, it was Glasner who chose not to bring the left-back on board. According to The Athletic, Glasner felt Sessegnon would not provide the competition needed for Tyrick Mitchell at left-back.
Journalist Alan Nixon added that Glasner wasn’t convinced Sessegnon was the right fit for the team.

With Palace still in need of depth at left-back, it’s noteworthy that Glasner opted against signing Sessegnon.
In light of this, Palace might look to academy player Tayo Adaramola as an alternative. At 20 years old and with some senior experience, including a loan spell at RWD Molenbeek, Adaramola could be a promising option to support Mitchell without the need for a major signing.
