At David Njoku’s softball game at Classic Park, the crowd was electrified when Travis Kelce arrived just before the home run derby — almost as much as the audience at an Eras Tour concert featuring his girlfriend, Taylor Swift.
Kelce, a native of Cleveland Heights and a 3-time Super Bowl champion with the Chiefs, has developed a friendship with Njoku over the years, largely due to Kelce’s offseason Tight End University program that brings together players from the same position across the league.
“That’s my guy, man,” Njoku said. “He’s one of the purest human beings I’ve ever met. Always means well. Just a great overall dude.”
