Warriors’ Draymond Green reveals significant hurdle amidst back issues

Draymond Green remains assured as the Warriors battle for position in the Western Conference rankings.

For years, positioning Draymond Green at center has allowed the Golden State Warriors to unleash their best lineup combinations, especially during tough times. His versatility defensively and playmaking abilities have been instrumental, particularly with Stephen Curry and his teammates. However, recently, Green has had to step up into the full-time center role due to team needs.

Despite this change, Green remains confident in his ability to fulfill this new role effectively, especially with capable substitutes ready to step in if needed. He expressed this confidence, stating that he doesn’t overly worry about the responsibility because he trusts his teammates to step up when required.

This move to have Green as the primary starting center signifies a shift towards a small-ball approach for the Warriors, despite fans calling for more size in the lineup. Since the switch in late January, the team has shown improvement, with Green contributing across the board in points, rebounds, and assists.

With the Warriors aiming for a higher position in the Western Conference, they’ve entrusted Green with significant responsibility. However, there are concerns about his age and durability, considering he’s already 34 years old. Additionally, as the primary center, Green needs to maintain his composure and avoid unnecessary physical confrontations to preserve his health.

While Green believes in the team’s depth at the center position, questions remain about the readiness of the other options in case of injury. Kevon Looney and Dario Saric have seen reduced playing time, leaving Trayce Jackson-Davis as a potential replacement. Jackson-Davis has shown promise as a lob threat and is improving defensively, but the Warriors’ depth at the center remains a lingering concern.
