Victor Wembanyama’s stock is on the rise, as the Spur’s star garners multiple individual recognition

On Friday night before the Spurs game against the Los Angeles Lakers, Dan Weiss shared this graphic.

Before Friday’s game, Wemby had 222 combined steals and blocks, or “stocks,” thirty-three more than Anthony Davis. AD, who doesn’t just have the second highest stock in the league, but was Wemby’s opponent for the night.

Last night, Victor added five more steals and five blocks to his total, making him the second player in NBA history to record five steals and five blocks in back-to-back games. Davis only added one steal and no blocks to his total.

Michael Jordan was the other player to accomplish the feat.

Is Wemby satisfied simply making history?

In addition to the steals and blocks, Wemby scored 27 points, pulled 10 rebounds, and 8 assists. For those of you keeping score, that is a 5×5 game, the first since 2019.

A total of 29 points, 18 rebounds, 9 assists, 5 steals, and 11 blocks were scored by Hakeem “The Dream” Olajuwon in 1990. It’s the first time in almost 25 years that Wemby is close to that stat line.

Alert the league: Wemby is starting to receive some individual recognition, but he and the Spurs are aiming for team accolades.
