UFL to NFL Signings Tracker 2024: News, rumors and updates

Tuesday marked the first day that United Football League (UFL) players could sign with NFL clubs. In a short span, many players have already been picked up by NFL franchises as these teams finalize their rosters ahead of July’s training camp schedule.

With that in mind, we will track which players have officially signed with NFL teams, which players are rumored to have agreed to terms, and which All-UFL players remain available as free agents. Notably, the Green Bay Packers still have one available roster spot on their 91-man roster, following the retirement of an undrafted rookie free agent. The Packers have also been linked to two former UFL players who opted to sign elsewhere this offseason.

Announced

The top NFL prospect emerging from the 2024 spring season was kicker Jake Bates, who chose to stay in Michigan to play with the Detroit Lions despite receiving several other offers, including one from the Green Bay Packers. The Packers also missed out on Defenders guard Liam Fornadel, a 2023 All-XFL team member. Fornadel, like Bates, visited Green Bay before deciding to sign elsewhere.

Another notable player from the spring season is cornerback Gareon Conley, a former first-round pick who previously made 26 starts with the Oakland Raiders and Houston Texans earlier in his NFL career. Conley will now join the Dallas Cowboys after a successful season with the Defenders.

Additionally, players Saylors, Davis, Levao, and Harvey Jr. were all members of the inaugural All-UFL team and have garnered significant attention.

Pending

Both Jones-Smith and Person Jr. have had their contracts with the UFL terminated, allowing them to sign with NFL teams. However, neither player has been officially announced as a signing by the teams reportedly interested in them. Jones-Smith, an All-UFL left tackle for the Battlehawks this spring, is one such player whose deal is expected to become official soon.

Rumors

The UFL has yet to terminate the contracts of the following two players, a necessary step before they can sign with NFL teams. However, reports indicate that these players have already found potential landing spots in the league.
