Twins 3, Red Sox 1: The Dirty Dozen

The Twins are currently on an impressive streak, having won 12 consecutive games.

Led by one of Pablo’s strongest performances of the season so far, the Twins rallied from behind, managing to secure another series victory by scattering eight hits and scoring three runs. Despite some initial uncertainty during Lopez’s start, including a first-inning run and a few inconsistent pitches, he ultimately delivered six innings of exceptional one-run ball, striking out eight batters and allowing only five hits.

Lopez showcased his stellar performance in front of his newly formed fan section, currently known as the “Pablo Day” package, situated along the right field line. This enthusiastic group, which includes myself, kept the chants going and proudly waved Venezuelan flags, earning a nod of acknowledgment from Lopez as he left the field.

On the offensive side, key players made significant contributions. Willi Castro extended his hitting streak to 10 games with a crucial single, setting up a run later scored on a Carlos Correa groundout in the first inning. Correa himself drove in one of three RBIs with a powerful sixth-inning sacrifice fly, while Max Kepler, returning from injury, provided a pivotal jolt with a hit in the fourth inning.

With a 3-1 lead, the Twins clinched another victory against the Boston Red Sox, setting them up for a potential 13th consecutive win in the upcoming game. Their next challenge awaits as they face the Seattle Mariners in a four-game home series, raising the possibility of extending their remarkable winning streak even further.
