Christian Chivu expresses gratitude to Inter Milan for helping him achieve his dreams.
Christian Chivu has delivered an emotional farewell as he prepares to leave his role as the coach of Inter Milan’s Under-19 team. Speaking to InterTV, via FCInterNews, Chivu expressed deep gratitude towards the club for helping him achieve his dreams.
Chivu has spent the past three years coaching Inter’s Primavera (Under-19) team, after taking on the role in the summer of 2021. Before this, he held various coaching positions within Inter’s youth system. Prior to his coaching career, Chivu had a distinguished playing career with clubs such as Ajax and Roma, but his most notable achievements came with Inter Milan. He was a key figure in the team that won the European Treble in the 2009-10 season, claiming the Serie A title, Coppa Italia, and the Champions League.
Now, after a long association with Inter both as a player and coach, Chivu is set to move on. Although his next destination remains uncertain, he has confirmed his departure from the club. Reflecting on his time at Inter, Chivu said, “I thanked everyone for what we’ve done together over the last six years. I started my journey coaching the Under-14 team, and some of the players from that team are still here with the Primavera side.” He added, “I’m happy to have seen them grow and I hope they can become top players.”
Chivu concluded with heartfelt thanks to the club, saying, “My extraordinary journey with Inter ends here. I want to thank the club that gave me the opportunity to grow, as a player and as a coach. I will always thank Inter, because they allowed me to realize my dreams.”
