Tottenham Hotspur have been active in the transfer market, and they might have more moves in store.
Despite already securing three high-profile signings, Tottenham Hotspur might not be done yet. They are still on the lookout for a new midfielder and have set their sights on a Premier League player.
According to Dean Jones on the Ranks FC Podcast, Tottenham are interested in Morgan Gibbs-White from Nottingham Forest. However, they see him fitting more as a deeper midfielder rather than a traditional number eight.
Jones revealed that Spurs are looking for a powerful presence in midfield. “Morgan Gibbs-White is someone they like, but they envision him more as a number eight breaking out, not in a traditional role. They also have an interest in Joao Gomes at Wolves,” Jones said.
The prospect of Gibbs-White joining Tottenham and playing as a dynamic number eight is intriguing. He has the physicality, speed, and technical skills to excel in that role.
Ange Postecoglou, known for developing players like Matt O’Riley at Celtic, could find a similar success with Gibbs-White. However, signing the 23-year-old may prove challenging given his £42 million transfer fee from Forest and his rising value.
Whether Tottenham can meet the financial demands remains to be seen, but if they manage to secure Gibbs-White, it would be a significant boost for their squad. Keep an eye on this situation as the transfer window closes.
