According to ESPN’s NBA insider Bobby Marks, Boston Celtics standout Jayson Tatum is eligible to sign a record-breaking five-year, $315 million extension this summer.
Tatum has met the criteria for postseason honors, including All-NBA recognition, having reached 65 games. With five All-Star selections and three All-NBA nods, Tatum, drafted by the Celtics in 2017, has been a cornerstone player for Boston, averaging 23.1 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game.
Despite Boston’s previous postseason success, including four Eastern Conference Finals appearances and one NBA Finals berth, Tatum, at just 26 years old, is eager to pursue further achievements.
With the Celtics currently leading the league, Tatum’s impressive performance this season has garnered widespread acclaim, even drawing praise from NBA legend LeBron James, who highlighted Tatum’s remarkable achievements before turning 26.
