Texas Longhorns to Host Five-Star Wide Receiver in 2025 Jaime Ffrench. The Texas Longhorns are definitely in the running, With regard to the former Alabama wide receiver recruit
The shockwaves from Alabama head coach Nick Saban’s retirement are still being felt in college football, and Texas might benefit once again this offseason.
Along with adding some talent, Texas was able to secure a contract extension for Steve Sarkisian. Three transfers from Alabama have already been signed by the Longhorns; two of them, Isaiah Bond and tight end Amari Niblack, are the main offensive weapons for the Crimson Tide. They are already benefiting from Saban’s retirement in the recruiting market, as they are vying for Jaime Ffrench, a five-star receiver who ranks highly for 2025.
According to a report by Inside Texas’ Joe Cook, the Longhorns will be hosting Ffrench for a visit on April 6. The Jacksonville, Florida product broke down to On3’s Chad Simmons where he’s at in his recruitment, which appears to be wide open following Saban’s departure.
“I’m pretty much open right now,” said Ffrench. “I’m all ears for everybody that is showing love. I’ll probably remake my top 10 schools and just go from there. I also want to see where I fit best and where feels like home among those top schools.”
Cook claims that programs like Ole Miss, Georgia, Ohio State, Miami, Florida State, and Florida State are all competing with Texas for Ffrench. Given that he put up an incredible stat line of 62 receptions for 1,247 yards and 14 touchdowns in the previous season, it is obvious why these teams are also after him.
Ffrench is presently ranked No. 3 among wide receivers, No. 2 in Florida, and No. 15 nationally by On3.
