The opponents Uganda’s senior men’s basketball team will face in the 2025 Afrobasket qualification campaign have been revealed.
The Silverbucks and Nigeria, the dominant team in West Africa, were drawn into the same group for Friday’s draws held in Johannesburg, South Africa.
In Group B, the Silverbacks will also face up against the knowledgeable Cape Verdeans.
The other and last country in the Pool will be determined via the Zone 1 and Zone 2 Zonal Qualifiers.
It is noteworthy that the games for qualification will take place in February of 2024.
Ironically, during the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup Qualifiers, the Silverbacks were placed in a similar group.
It’s crucial to keep in mind that Uganda and Cape Verde met earlier in the 2021 AfroBasket qualifiers.
In the last competition’s quarterfinal, the two countries faced off once more.
