Rookie safety makes play of day in Packers camp practice #12
Today, it was announced that Packers’ first-round rookie, Jordan Morgan, will be sidelined for about a week due to a shoulder injury sustained on Tuesday. This injury will keep Morgan out of the preseason opener.
In other developments, wide receiver Jayden Reed is out with a calf injury, and during Wednesday’s practice, both Malik Heath and Christian Watson experienced setbacks. Heath was able to return, but Watson, who was injured attempting to catch a contested pass intercepted by rookie safety Evan Williams, stayed down for a few minutes before assuring he would be alright.
Williams expressed his eagerness to capitalize on such opportunities, stating, “You just have to make the most of your opportunities, whenever you get them.” Fellow safety Xavier McKinney commended Williams’ effort, highlighting its importance in a critical 2-minute situation.
Additionally, the Packers have added a third kicker to their roster. Alex Hale, an Australian-born rookie from Oklahoma State, joined the team after successfully making 5 of 6 field goal attempts in his first practice, adding to the competition for the place kicker spot.
