This setback implies that McCabe, who was already considered an older prospect for his level, playing in Low A and High A at age 23, will now miss the entirety of his age 24 season.
Ken Giles, once a formidable 100-mph closer for the 2017 World Series champion Houston Astros, has faced adversity in recent years, marked by injuries and a stint in the minor leagues. Following a trade to Toronto in 2018, Giles battled setbacks, including Tommy John surgery, limiting his Major League appearances to just nine games over the past four seasons. In 2023, while playing 21 minor league games with the Dodgers’ organization, he posted a challenging 9.50 earned run average.
