The Pittsburgh Steelers are reportedly exploring options to bolster their wide receiver corps, with rumors suggesting they’ve made inquiries to the Seattle Seahawks regarding D.K. Metcalf’s availability.
The Seahawks faced a lengthy wait in the 2024 NFL Draft due to the absence of a second-round pick. Their second selection of the draft didn’t come until the 81st overall pick in the third round, leading to some anxious moments in the Seahawks’ draft room on Friday evening. As their turn approached, the Seahawks were eager to secure Christian Haynes, a guard from the University of Connecticut. However, with several offensive linemen drafted between the 73rd and 79th picks, there was uncertainty about Haynes still being available when the Seahawks’ turn arrived.
Justin Slaten, a former Hallsville Bobcat, secured his maiden MLB-career save, rebounding from a tough debut for the Boston Red Sox. Mike Caldwell, who underwent two rounds of interviews with the Eagles in the past month, has opted to join the Raiders organization. With a background spanning nine years with the Eagles, serving as both a linebacker and assistant coach, Caldwell will now transition to the role of defensive run game coordinator and linebackers coach under the guidance of new Raiders head coach, Antonio Pierce, as reported by NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo. Despite the Eagles’ consideration of Caldwell for multiple coaching positions, including defensive coordinator and linebackers coach, they have yet to fill the latter role
