Stoke City Eyeing Premier League Talent

Stoke City are set to bolster their attack before the transfer window closes, with Steven Schumacher targeting a new striker.

Stoke City are aiming to bolster their attacking options before the transfer deadline. With Tyrese Campbell moving to Sheffield United and Wesley leaving on a free transfer, the Potters have already brought in Liverpool’s Lewis Koumas on loan and signed Sam Gallagher from Blackburn Rovers.

However, they are not done yet. According to The Daily Telegraph’s John Percy, Stoke City is targeting Leicester City’s Tom Cannon for a loan move and pushing to finalize the deal by the deadline.

Cannon, who has Championship experience with Leicester, scored three goals in 13 appearances during their title-winning season. He also had a successful stint with Preston North End, scoring eight goals in 23 appearances during the latter half of the 2022/23 season.

While Cannon has attracted interest from several Championship clubs, including Sunderland, Norwich City, and Hull City, Sunderland has reportedly withdrawn their offer. Stoke City’s pursuit of Cannon could provide the young forward with valuable playing time and strengthen their squad significantly.
