Nottingham Forest bounced back with a win this weekend after two consecutive Premier League losses.
Ipswich Town visited the City Ground, having recently secured four points from matches against Tottenham and Manchester United. However, Nottingham Forest proved too strong, winning the match 1-0 thanks to Chris Wood’s ninth goal of the season. Wood now has 24 Premier League goals for Forest, tying Bryan Roy at the top of the club’s all-time scoring charts.
After the game, several talking points emerged, with players receiving praise from pundits. One standout was Morato, who continues to push for a starting spot. The central defender was brought on during the Ipswich match and, once again, helped Forest keep a clean sheet, sealing the victory.
Steve Hodge, speaking on BBC Radio Nottingham, praised Morato’s calm and composed style, noting that having players like him available is a big improvement compared to last season’s reliance on a few key players. Hodge said, “He’s a quality player. I like him.”
Morato may soon get a chance to start, particularly against Manchester City, where Forest may opt for three at the back. Although Morato hasn’t conceded when on the pitch for Forest, he will want more game time. At just £10 million, the Brazilian has already proven to be a solid addition, and manager Espirito Santo faces a big decision ahead.
