Sheffield Wednesday Boss Makes Admission On £1 Million-Rated Star

Sheffield Wednesday head coach Danny Rohl has remained tight-lipped about rumors linking his team with an interest in Rangers forward Scott Wright. Despite the transfer window opening only three weeks ago, the Owls have been very active this summer. Following a remarkable escape from relegation in the Championship last season, the South Yorkshire club has bolstered their squad with several new signings, including Jamal Lowe, Svante Ingelsson, Max Lowe, James Beadle, Ben Hamer, Yan Valery, and most recently, Olaf Kobacki. The club’s board appears determined to avoid another relegation battle by strengthening various positions within the team.

However, Wednesday may still be looking to add more players and have shown interest in Scott Wright from Rangers. Wright’s current contract at Ibrox has only 12 months remaining, making this the last chance for Rangers to cash in on the attacker, who has a market value of £1 million, according to Transfermarkt. With Rangers manager Philippe Clement looking to revamp his squad this summer, Wright could be available for transfer.

When questioned about the club’s interest in Wright on BBC’s Football Heaven, Owls boss Danny Rohl declined to comment on a player not currently under contract with Sheffield Wednesday, as reported by Football Scotland.

“I will not speak about names because it makes no sense. This market goes so quick. We have an idea what we want to have, I have an idea of how I want to play in the new season.

“We know what we have to improve when we look back from last season and then it’s about finding the right pieces to make our squad stronger and stronger because we are very ambitious for the new season.”
