Richard Keys says VAR made a big mistake in the Crystal Palace vs Leicester City game.

Crystal Palace has struggled this season, still looking for their first Premier League win.

Oliver Glasner’s struggles continue as he’s managed only two points from the first 12 available in the Premier League this season.

Crystal Palace handed Eddie Nketiah his debut, but the new arrival couldn’t make a significant impact. Instead, Jean-Philippe Mateta’s late penalty earned Palace a crucial point.

Leicester City, on the other hand, will be disappointed to settle for a draw after leading 2-0 at halftime. Jamie Vardy had put the home fans in celebration after rounding Dean Henderson to score.

Richard Keys, however, was critical of VAR’s decision on Mateta’s first goal. Despite the linesman’s initial offside call, VAR reviewed the play and confirmed the goal.

Keys voiced his displeasure on Twitter, questioning the VAR review. Although Mateta appeared ahead of Tyrick Mitchell when the ball was crossed, it’s often hard to judge offside calls from TV angles alone. VAR’s multiple camera angles should provide a clearer view, but ongoing scrutiny of VAR decisions suggests that not everyone is convinced of its accuracy.
