The Seattle Seahawks have solidified two starting cornerback positions, with Devon Witherspoon expected to operate in the slot and Tariq Woolen stationed on the outside, leaving the competition for the remaining outside spot wide open.
In the later rounds of the draft, the Seahawks turned their attention to bolstering their cornerback depth, selecting two prospects from Auburn. Nehemiah Pritchett was chosen in the 5th round as the 136th overall pick. Pritchett, primarily an outside cornerback, presents himself as a potential contender for a starting role within the Seahawks’ defensive lineup.
Furthermore, the Seahawks utilized their 6th-round pick to acquire D.J. James, another cornerback from Auburn. James, selected as the 192nd overall pick, brings versatility to the table, capable of playing both outside and in the slot. However, according to Ourlads, James is currently listed as Witherspoon’s backup, indicating a role primarily in the slot position for the time being.
