Report: Club set for third attempt to sign Tottenham player this summer

According to Calciomercato, AC Milan is making a third attempt this summer to sign Emerson Royal, having failed in their previous efforts to secure the Tottenham defender. Reports indicate that Emerson is expected to be among the players Spurs will offload this summer as part of their squad overhaul. Fabrizio Romano recently suggested that the 25-year-old could be one of the first departures, possibly leaving as early as June (GiveMeSport).

Milan’s interest in signing a right-back has been well-documented in recent weeks, with Emerson reportedly high on their list (Gazzetta dello Sport via Sport Witness). Additionally, Bayern Munich and several Saudi Arabian clubs have also emerged as potential suitors for the Brazilian defender (Tom Barclay).

Calciomercato notes that Milan previously attempted to sign Emerson in the summers of 2020 and 2021, but Tottenham secured his services instead. The Rossoneri are hopeful that their third attempt will be successful. The report mentions that Emerson’s current salary is €2.2 million (£1.8 million) per year, a figure Milan can match, and that Tottenham would be open to considering offers for him.
