Last week, it seemed that Columbus High School (Fla.) five-star forward Cameron Boozer and his twin brother, five-star guard Cayden Boozer, who have had Duke basketball offers since May 2022, would announce their college commitments this Thursday. However, that date now appears uncertain.
According to national recruiting insider Adam Zagoria, “Hurricane Milton, among many other things, is impacting the timeline of the Boozers’ announcement.” He also noted that the brothers are expected to make their decisions via social media without a formal press conference or live interview with a major recruiting outlet.
In other words, the Boozer twins may reveal their college choices without prior notice of when it will happen. They are reportedly choosing between Miami and Duke. Their father, Carlos Boozer, was a standout player at Duke, contributing to the 2000-01 national championship team before his 13-year NBA career, during which he became a two-time All-Star.
Duke head coach Jon Scheyer, now in his third season, is still pursuing his first major recruits from the class of 2025. Securing commitments from both Boozer brothers could potentially be a significant achievement. As of now, however, the 247Sports Crystal Ball shows no predictions for either Cameron, ranked No. 2 overall in the 2025 class, or Cayden, ranked No. 21.
