There’s more bad news for Kalvin Phillips with Kobbie Mainoo.
Kobbie Mainoo appears to have been raised in the wrong Manchester team because of his exceptional attributes, which would make him a perfect match at the Etihad.
The Manchester United midfielder has been outstanding, and his strong debut on the international scene may have won him a place in the starting lineup as well as in the Euro 2024 roster.
That would be unfortunate news for another City player, as it would mean that Phil Foden would never be able to play centrally for England. At least for the time being.

However, Southgate probably finds Mainoo a more desirable choice due to his defensive prowess, with Foden stuck on the wings.
