Real Betis eye move for Leeds United defender Diego Llorente

Real Betis are actively pursuing a transfer for Leeds United defender Diego Llorente this summer, as reported by MARCA. The Spanish news outlet stated on June 25 that Real Betis’ sporting director, Manu Fajardo, is closely monitoring the situation. The La Liga club is waiting to see how Llorente’s future unfolds to determine if they can compete for his transfer in the upcoming summer window.

Despite Leeds United’s need for defensive reinforcements, Llorente’s full departure would likely not cause much concern among West Yorkshire fans. The Spain international has been on loan with Roma for the past 18 months, but the Italian club’s interest in signing him permanently has waned, as reported by The Mirror on June 19.

Llorente’s exit could assist Leeds in financing a potential move for Joe Rodon, although the Welsh defender is attracting interest from multiple clubs. Leeds may also consider selling players this summer due to their failure to secure promotion back to the Premier League.

In addition to Llorente, the potential sale of Marc Roca to Real Betis could also be advantageous for Leeds. Few at Elland Road would likely be upset by Roca’s departure, as reported by Betis BeSoccer on June 25.
