Adrian Wojnarowski and Shams Charania claim that two Raptors 905 players, Mouhamadou Gueye and Justise Winslow, have agreed to 10-day contracts to join the big team. The additions have not yet been formally announced by the team. After the trade deadline, Toronto had two open roster spaces to fill. The team decided to use players already in the organization to occupy those spots. During training camp, Gueye and Winslow signed Exhibit 10 contracts with the Raptors, but they were later waived and sent to the G League.
The 27-year-old Winslow was once selected in the lottery, but injuries have destroyed his NBA career. Throughout the course of the 905’s 17 G League games this season, he has averaged 16.2 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game while shooting 27.6% from beyond the arc and 51.4% from the field.
For the foreseeable future, the 6-foot-6 wing will probably join the Raptors as an end-of-the-bench depth player. In 28 G League games this season, the 6-foot-9 Gueye, who played for Toronto during Summer League, has averaged 14.3, 8.4 rebounds, and 2.7 blocks per game. Compared to Jontay Porter, he provides the Raptors with an additional flexible small-ball big man off the bench who is a touch quicker. Neither Gueye nor Winslow is expected to see much playing time with the Raptors, but they’ll have a chance to show the organization what they can do in practice reps over the next 10 days.
