Ranieri Responds to Vardy Transfer Speculation Amid Sightings with Italian Club

Current Leicester City Transfer Update: Uncertainty Surrounds Jamie Vardy’s Future

Former Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri remains uncertain about Jamie Vardy’s future with the club, following sightings of the striker in Italy over the weekend.

Vardy’s current contract with Leicester City is set to expire on June 30, potentially leading to his departure from the club. Despite being 37 years old, Vardy has expressed his intention to continue playing, indicating that retirement is not on the horizon for him.

Recently, Vardy was observed in Italy attending a match alongside Dennis Wise, the club’s CEO, as Como 1907 secured promotion from Serie B to Serie A under the management of Cesc Fabregas.

However, Vardy’s plans regarding a potential move remain undisclosed, even to those closest to him. When questioned about Vardy’s future during an interview following his team’s defeat to AC Milan, Ranieri, now the head coach of Cagliari, admitted his lack of knowledge on the matter.

Ranieri stated that he hadn’t been contacted by Vardy and was unaware of any potential interest from Fabregas or Como 1907. Despite the uncertainty surrounding Vardy’s future, the striker has hinted at his desire to continue playing, emphasizing his fitness and readiness for the challenges ahead.

With an impressive record of 190 goals and 66 assists in 494 appearances for Leicester City, Vardy has been an integral part of the club’s success, winning titles in the Premier League, FA Cup, Community Shield, and Championship.
