Pundit who criticized Nottingham Forest before now praises ‘exceptional’ £8m-rated star

Nottingham Forest are steadily going about their work and shifting the club’s perception.

Nottingham Forest are sitting sixth in the Premier League after 13 matches, a position no one could have predicted at the start of the season. Under the guidance of Nuno Espirito Santo, the team has delivered impressive performances, with several standout players at the City Ground.

Chris Wood, who has equalled Bryan Roy’s tally of 24 Premier League goals for Forest, is in excellent form, having netted nine goals so far this season.

An amusing side effect of Forest’s success has been the sudden change of heart among pundits who had previously criticized the club. Gary Lineker and Robbie Earle have reversed their opinions, with Earle no longer fearing relegation for Forest. Even Chris Sutton, once a harsh critic, is now a Forest supporter, highlighting the dramatic shift in perception.

The latest pundit to praise Forest is Sky Sports presenter Dougie Critchley, who took to social media to commend Ola Aina for his stellar performances.

Aina, valued at £8 million and reportedly attracting interest from Milan, has been a key player for Forest. The club is now working to secure him to a new contract, which seems a wise move given his outstanding form.

Critchley, who had previously criticized Forest—calling them “embarrassing” after a defeat to Everton and mocking their signing of Giovanni Reyna—now speaks positively about the club.

While he was once critical of Forest’s prospects, this season he seems much more optimistic, especially about Aina’s contributions.
