Premier League announces Anthony Taylor decision following Nottingham Forest controversy.

Michael Oliver and Anthony Taylor have been assigned their duties for Week 6 of the Premier League season following a highly controversial weekend in England’s top division.

Michael Oliver and Anthony Taylor will return to refereeing duties for Week 6 of the Premier League. Both are set for on-field roles after a weekend filled with controversy in England’s top division.

Oliver faced scrutiny during Manchester City’s intense 2-2 draw with Arsenal, particularly for showing Leandro Trossard two yellow cards in the first half. Arsenal and City were also upset by other key decisions in the match, including John Stones’ late equalizer. Oliver will now act as the VAR for Chelsea’s clash with Brighton, before refereeing Southampton’s derby against Bournemouth on Monday.

Meanwhile, Taylor served as the fourth official for Nottingham Forest’s 2-2 draw against Brighton, where he influenced Rob Jones’ decision to send off Morgan Gibbs-White. Taylor returns to officiate Liverpool’s match against Wolves, marking his comeback after missing the previous weekend’s action following his role in a controversial Chelsea-Bournemouth game that saw 14 yellow cards.

Rob Jones will serve as the fourth official for Manchester City’s visit to Newcastle, while Josh Smith will referee Forest’s home game against Fulham.
