In case you haven’t done so yet, kindly review our methodology for determining player ratings. Everything is compiled there, including the rating scale and factors that influence it.

Starting XI Maignan (6.5): He was unable to stop Verona with two solid saves, and the goal was not in his control. Regretfully, he appeared to injure his hamstring during his most recent save, so it’s unclear how bad it is.

Calabria (6): The captain started the game extremely promisingly, showing some nice combinations on the right, but as the game progressed, we saw fewer and fewer of those. In defense, he could have been far more effective—the goal given up comes to mind.
Kalulu (6): A strong performance in his first outing since the match against Napoli in the previous season. Actually, Pioli benched him after 45 minutes since he wasn’t really put to the test all that much.

Milan Player Ratings vs Hellas Verona: Leao Brings Rossoneri Back on Track -

Omori (6): Verona likes to counter on the right wing, so the Englishman needed to play with his normal confidence and quickness. The center back was also scheduled for an extremely late challenge, indicating that the timing is still not perfect.

Hernandez (7.5 – MOTM): We felt he was the most crucial player tonight because of the several opportunities he and Leao combined to generate for Milan. Not to mention the goal, which demonstrated the Frenchman’s incredible determination. He will regrettably miss the Fiorentina match due to the severe yellow card.

Bennacer (6): The Algerian put up a mediocre show with a few well-placed passes mixed in with some lovely ones. Without a question, he plays a key role in the defense phase, but today’s 1v1s saw more of a beating than you might have predicted.

Reijnders (6.5): The Dutchman can move the ball forward so well that he can occasionally get past one, two, or even three defenders. Milan needs to have this skill in difficult conditions.

Pulisic (6.5): Given that he was unlucky not to score with a fantastic strike that went over the bar, this may seem like a harsh grade. He should be commended for capitalizing on that rebound, but the defense before Verona’s goal was appalling.

Loftus-Cheek (6): Milan’s life is made simpler in that regard since we have grown accustomed to the Englishman winning a lot of duels. This time, though, he wasn’t as active in the last third, and when he was, the outcome was lacking. Still, quite good given.

Leao (5): This was an extremely subpar performance by his standards. On multiple occasions, he erred in judgment and failed to capitalize on a one-on-one opportunity, misfiring his close-range attempt. He was frequently able to pose a challenge to the defender, but his finishing touch or maneuver was truly amazing.

Okafor (6.5): Took advantage of a Verona error to set up Pulisic’s goal, and he nearly scored a fantastic volley goal that was foiled by a fantastic stop. The Swiss international, playing at position nine, put on a very impressive performance.

Gabbia (6): He fulfilled his duties and shown solid positioning, but not much more.

Musah (6): He put in a lot of effort to earn a pass here, but his performance was only about a 5.5 overall due to a few careless instances.

Giroud (5.5): You should not go offside too frequently when you have new legs.

Chukwueze(7): Wow, what a finish! He finally scored his first goal in Serie A, and his volley into the bottom left corner was the ideal way to do so. I hope he can improve on this.

Kjaer (N/A): Not enough was seen for him to receive a rating.

The supervisor Pioli (6): It’s difficult to fault him for the replacements, albeit Chukwueze could have been a better choice to replace Leao rather than Okafor. The issue is that Milan required more to take command of the match at 2-0. He did seem agitated, so perhaps the guys didn’t listen to his instructions.
