The New England Patriots have added another quarterback to their roster late in the 2024 NFL Draft, following an early selection of a quarterback.
Joe Milton, from Tennessee, was chosen by the Patriots with the 193rd pick in the sixth round. A 24-year-old athlete, Milton spent three seasons at Michigan before transferring to Tennessee. Recognized for his strong arm, Milton showcased his skills by starting 12 games for the Vols in 2023. During this season, he completed 64.7 percent of his passes, accumulating 2,813 yards with 20 touchdowns and five interceptions. Additionally, Milton contributed seven rushing touchdowns to his team’s offensive efforts.
With the addition of Milton, the Patriots’ quarterback lineup now consists of five players: Drake Maye, who was the No. 3 overall pick, Jacoby Brissett, Nathan Rourke, and Bailey Zappe. Considering this surplus, it’s plausible that Zappe might become available, potentially allowing the Patriots to maintain a more manageable roster of four quarterbacks.
