The Texas Longhorns receiver was officially clocked at 4.21 seconds in the 40-yard dash Saturday, breaking the all-time NFL scouting combine record (4.22 seconds) set by Washington receiver John Ross III in 2017.
Worthy attempted to break or tie the record after his initial try, running an unofficial time of 4.25 seconds. And he was successful.
He was unofficially clocked at 4.22 seconds, but the official mark was measured at 4.21 seconds, putting his name alone in the record books.
History in Indianapolis.
One quarterback from the Kansas City Chiefs, Patrick Mahomes, was among many who saw the combine and offered feedback on social media. Following Worthy’s initial effort, the current Super Bowl champion responded with another post.
