During Week 4 of the game against the Minnesota Vikings, Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson left the field after a play in which he was the target for a pass from quarterback Jordan Love. The play ended in an interception, and Watson got twisted up in the process. While he initially managed to walk off the field without assistance, his condition soon worsened, and he was eventually carted off to the locker room.
Christian Watson –
Concern for Left MCL sprain. Hopefully it looks worse than it actually was. Had his foot pinned underneath while getting bent backwards though.
One pro: all of his prior injuries since 2018 were to his right knee..

Initially, the Packers listed Watson as questionable to return. However, following halftime, the team officially ruled him out for the rest of the game. The Packers identified his injury as an ankle issue, though there is concern that it may involve his knee, as Watson was seen clutching his knee immediately after the injury. Notably, Watson has dealt with knee injuries in the past, although this new injury affects his left leg, whereas his previous issues were with his right leg. Over his three-year career with the Packers, Watson has missed 11 games, largely due to hamstring problems, which he sought specialized treatment for during the offseason.
Tazim Wajid Wajed, a former Packers player and Watson’s father, speculated that his son might be suffering from a high ankle sprain. According to the Cleveland Clinic, recovery from such an injury can take between six to eight weeks, casting doubt on Watson’s availability for upcoming games.
