Ryan Garcia defeated Oscar Duarte in the main event of Golden Boy on DAZN.
Garcia ultimately had one more punch than Duarte when it came to overall punches, landing 70 of 300, or 23%, against 69 of 287, or 24%. In fact, Duarte had the advantage in power punches connected, 62 to 55.
Duarte lost in round eight at 2:51 and was unable to surpass the 10-count.
Texas’s Houston Ryan Garcia (24- 1, 20 KOs) was victorious in a catchweight contest at 143 pounds, stopping a resolute Oscar Duarte (26-2-1, 21 KOs) in eight rounds.
Garcia had just lost by knockout to Gervonta Davis in April of last year.
