Superstar quarterback Russell Wilson appears to have outstayed his welcome in the Mile High City after two lackluster seasons with the Denver Broncos, and all indications point to the team’s desire to split ways with Wilson during this NFL summer.
When Wilson was benched late in the season, while the club was still in the running for a postseason berth, the Broncos appeared to be making a statement about their intentions with the player.
The Broncos made it very clear the Russell Wilson chapter will be over soon.
Around the league, people believe Denver will cut him by next week, per @DMRussini.

Wilson was clearly offended by this and it was clear that Sean Payton’s Broncos were prepared to let the veteran quarterback go since he was failing to make a significant impact for the team.
According to Dianna Russini of The Athletic, the Broncos will likely cut Wilson at some point next week, making him an unrestricted free agent and able to sign wherever he wants during NFL free agency.
Even while it is regrettable that this Denver experiment was a failure, it appears that both parties will benefit from the split, as the team won’t progress going forward with the veteran starting.
Following Wilson’s release by the Broncos, there will be a lot of talk regarding his immediate future, with a few teams maybe interested in signing him in the summer.
Both the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Atlanta Falcons, who are both searching for a seasoned quarterback to step in and guide them into the postseason, have been frequently suggested as potential destinations for Wilson.
