On Thursday, the Rams officially announced another free agent signing.
The Los Angeles Rams officially re-signed linebacker Troy Reeder for another season on Thursday. The 29-year-old veteran, who joined the Rams as an undrafted free agent in 2019 after a collegiate career at Penn State and Delaware, played in 17 games for L.A. last season, primarily contributing on special teams, where he made 23 tackles.
Reeder initially spent his first three seasons with the Rams, from 2019 to 2021, notably starting a career-high 10 games during the Super Bowl-winning campaign and tallying 91 tackles. In 2022, he briefly joined the Los Angeles Chargers to reunite with former Rams defensive coordinator Brandon Staley but saw limited action exclusively on special teams, recording only 11 tackles. Returning to the Rams in 2023, Reeder began working with the defense again in Week 9 against the Green Bay Packers, playing 44 snaps on that side of the ball. Although he secured a regular role for the remainder of the season, he was sidelined for the wild card round against the Detroit Lions due to a knee injury.
While the Rams currently have Ernest Jones and Christian Rozeboom as the anticipated top two linebacker options, they are expected to explore linebacker prospects in the upcoming draft.
