Nottingham Forest are now open to offers for a player signed by Steve Cooper just last summer.
Premier League action awaits Nuno Espirito Santo’s team, though Nottingham Forest narrowly avoided relegation. Evangelos Marinakis is likely aiming for significant improvements at the City Ground with new summer signings.
Forest have already been linked with several potential recruits, including free agent striker Che Adams and Brazilian goalkeeper Carlos Miguel, who is reportedly ‘ready to play’ for the Premier League side.
However, it seems Forest are now open to selling a player they signed just last summer. To avoid last season’s points deduction, Forest, along with four other Premier League clubs, need to sell players by the June 30 PSR rules deadline. They need to generate cash, potentially through player sales, similar to how Brennan Johnson brought in significant funds last year.
It appears Matt Turner might be on his way out. Since Nuno’s arrival, Turner hasn’t been in the Portuguese manager’s plans, playing only eight times and not featuring since January in the Premier League. With a new goalkeeper likely incoming, Turner’s departure seems beneficial for all parties.
Despite being called “phenomenal” by Mikel Arteta, Turner doesn’t fit Nuno’s vision, with Matz Sels securing the starting position late in the season. Offloading Turner would help Forest meet the PSR deadline by the end of the month.
