Nottingham Forest hikes season ticket costs by a hefty 24%.

Despite potential relegation, Nottingham Forest has upped its season ticket prices by an average of 24% for the 2024-25 season.

Nottingham Forest, a Premier League team, has disclosed its decision to raise season ticket prices with just five games left in the current season. They have clarified that this increase will apply even if the team faces relegation to the Championship next year.

For the upcoming 2024-25 season, the most expensive adult season ticket will cost £850, up from £660 in the previous season. Similarly, the cheapest adult season ticket has risen from £465 to £550. Despite the increase, Nottingham Forest maintains that their prices have been among the lowest in the division, and they assert that next season’s tickets will still offer excellent value compared to other Premier League clubs.

Tom Cartledge, the club’s chairman, emphasized the need for financial growth to remain competitive, especially considering forthcoming regulations on squad cost ratios. However, the significant increase in child season ticket prices—from £90 to a flat rate of £190—represents a substantial 111% rise from the previous season.

These changes are expected to generate approximately £2 million for the club. However, the Nottingham Forest Supporters’ Trust has voiced its strong opposition, stating that they were not consulted about the increases and arguing that the hikes are disproportionate to the current inflation rate. They fear that many loyal fans will be priced out of renewing their season tickets due to the extreme increases, particularly amidst the ongoing cost of living crisis.

Nottingham Forest joins a list of Premier League clubs, including Newcastle, Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, and Manchester City, in announcing ticket price hikes for the upcoming season. These announcements have sparked backlash from supporters across the board.
