West Ham United faces strong competition from Nottingham Forest for a key target in the summer transfer window.
Forest has made the first official move, overtaking West Ham in the race for a key transfer target.
Julen Lopetegui has already signed three players this summer but needs at least three or four more to achieve any success this season. One crucial area for reinforcement is the left-wing department, especially after Said Benrahma’s permanent move to Lyon. Lopetegui needs a right-footed left winger to balance the team.
West Ham urgently needs more balance on the left, as players like Lucas Paqueta and Mohammed Kudus are more effective centrally. The ideal player is available, but Nottingham Forest has seemingly taken the first step to secure him.
Forest’s move could cause a transfer problem for West Ham. According to O Jogo, Forest has made an official offer for Jota Silva, a player linked to West Ham all summer. The offer amount is undisclosed, but Silva’s release clause is £16.8 million.
The 24-year-old, who has been on West Ham’s radar since May, impressed last season in Portugal with 15 goals and seven assists for Vitoria de Guimaraes. He has technical ability, decent pace, a wicked delivery, and a keen eye for goal.
West Ham must act quickly to counter Forest’s bid for Jota Silva. The Hammers cannot afford to lose the race for this talented winger.
