The injury news that attacker Taiwo Awoniyi would miss some time is a blow for Nottingham Forest.
The front man is not included in the starting lineup for the Reds’ crucial Kenilworth Road fixture against Luton Town. It is anticipated that he will be gone for several weeks.
It wasn’t until January that Awoniyi made his comeback from a spell of absence due to groin surgery. Awoniyi played more minutes in a shorter amount of time than Forest would have preferred, but Chris Wood’s injury forced head coach Nuno Espirito Santo to discuss how he has had to handle the forward man.
Wood’s own injury recovery was only just achieved. Nuno has made three changes to the team from the 1-0 loss at Brighton and Hove Albion last weekend, and he is starting XI against the Hatters.
Willy Boly enters the defense and is positioned to play alongside Murillo in the center of the defense. Goalkeeper Matz Sels is supplanted at full back by Neco Williams and Harry Toffolo.
Ryan Yates and Ibrahim Sangare will start together in midfield. Anthony Elanga will partner with Divock Origi and Morgan Gibbs-White to assist Chris Wood, the striker.
Gio Reyna makes a comeback as the American is one of the replacements following his convalescence. The bench will consist of Rodrigo Ribeiro, Andrew Omobamidele, Felipe, Danilo, Matt Turner, Cheikhou Kouyate, Hudson-Odoi, Nicolas Dominguez, and Felipe.
The Reds, who have lost four straight games across all competitions, will play their relegation rivals. Forest leads their opponents by one spot and three points in the Premier League standings before kickoff at Kenilworth Road.
