Nottingham Forest and Brighton compete for an “exciting” striker who can “challenge any defender.”

Nottingham Forest are looking to sign several players this summer, and a new name has emerged as the transfer window opens.

Forest have already added Marko Stamenic to their ranks, though he will spend the season on loan with Olympiacos. Yesterday, Forest secured Germany under-17 World Cup winner Eric da Silva Moreira as their summer rebuild gains momentum.

A goalkeeper is also expected to join soon, with Carlos Miguel reportedly passing a medical ahead of his move from Corinthians.

Now, Forest have their sights set on a striker, and at least one key forward is likely to sign for the club before the season starts in mid-August.

Nottingham Forest want Edmund Baidoo. According to Sky Sports, Forest and Brighton are competing for the signing of young striker Edmund Baidoo. The Reds are interested in the Ghanaian player who currently plays for Norwegian club Sogndal.

Last season, Baidoo made his senior football debut under former Chelsea striker Tore Andre Flo, the current manager. He impressed by scoring nine goals and providing seven assists in just 16 appearances.

While Baidoo is in no rush to move clubs, he is open to joining another European league. Forest’s interest in Baidoo is noteworthy as they aim to emulate Brighton’s recruitment model. Baidoo could be an exciting prospect for Forest fans, more so than signing an older striker. Financially, this signing might be ideal for Forest as Baidoo would be a cost-effective addition. If he performs well in the Premier League, he could be sold for a significant profit in the future.

Baidoo’s manager, Tore Andre Flo, praised him in March, saying, “He was with us for 14 days in Spain and made a very good impression. He is a young and very exciting player. He has great speed and good technique and can challenge any defender.”

While Baidoo is still raw at 18 years old, this type of signing is likely to excite Forest fans. Forest would welcome a young striker into their ranks, and it remains to be seen if Baidoo will be the one they choose.
