Elliot Anderson, who previously earned accolades for his outstanding performance against Everton, continued to impress during his hour on the pitch against Fulham, demonstrating that he possesses qualities far beyond his youthful age.

Despite facing significant pressure from Fulham’s relentless attacks, Anderson’s introduction proved pivotal in altering the course of the game, particularly in one of Newcastle’s more hard-fought victories of the season.

Substituting for the injured Joe Willock, Anderson’s presence allowed Newcastle to assert greater control and dominance in the second half.

While acknowledging his team’s fortune to enter halftime on even terms, manager Eddie Howe wasted no time in commending the 21-year-old sensation, affectionately referred to by fans as ‘the Geordie Maradona’.

‘He is an outstanding player,’ said Howe. ‘And improving all the time. We really rate him and feel there’s so much more to come but he’s growing into that position and starting to look really assured.

‘We’re seeing the emergence of new players due to the injury crisis. Lewis Miley has emerged, Elliot is emerging and will have a chance to show how good he is.’
