Newcastle United are monitoring Arsenal playmaker Emile Smith Rowe as they look to bolster their attack in the summer.
According to a recent report by The Mirror, Newcastle United is keeping tabs on Arsenal’s playmaker, Emile Smith Rowe. The Magpies have reportedly earmarked the English talent as a potential target for the upcoming transfer window.
Smith Rowe’s Growing Frustrations In North London This Season
Smith Rowe’s season at the North London club has been challenging, struggling to establish himself as a regular starter in Mikel Arteta’s lineup.
Despite being a London native, the 23-year-old attacker has only made 18 appearances for the Gunners this season, managing a couple of assists across various competitions.
Much of his playing time has been off the bench, reflected in his modest averages of 1.0 shots, 0.3 key passes, and 0.3 dribbles per game in the Premier League.
However, he has shown efficiency in distributing the ball, boasting an 88.3% pass success rate in top-flight football according to stats from Whoscored.
Although his contract with the North London club expires in the summer of 2026, Newcastle could still pursue him at a reasonable price.
Under Eddie Howe’s management, Smith Rowe might find more consistent playing opportunities in the upcoming seasons.
