Newcastle are eager to secure Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi.
Newcastle have made a fourth bid for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi, reflecting their urgent desire to strengthen their defense. Eddie Howe has targeted the England international as a key addition.
Despite Guehi having just two years left on his contract, Palace are holding firm on their valuation of £65 million. The latest offer from Newcastle, reported by the Daily Mail, is closer to this figure, following a previous bid of £55 million plus add-ons.
Crystal Palace has been resistant to letting Guehi go, rejecting earlier approaches from Premier League rivals. However, Newcastle’s new bid is currently under consideration, with a potential agreement seeming increasingly likely.
Newcastle’s current record signing is Alexander Isak, who cost £60 million from Real Sociedad in 2022. Should the deal for Guehi go through, he would surpass Isak’s transfer fee. Palace owner Steve Parish has made it clear that any sale would require ‘superstar money.’
