Neville brutally trolls Arsenal after Gabriel goal using Newcastle VAR anger.

The most recent Arsenal news with Gary Neville made a contentious remark during Gabriel’s opening goal against Crystal Palace, seemingly directed at Gunners supporters.

The Brazil international eased some fears after a trying few weeks by rising to the top and heading deep into Declan Rice’s corner.

Due to their recent losses to West Ham, Fulham, and Liverpool, the Gunners’ season-long total of defeats has almost doubled in a short period of time. Arsenal lost to RC Lens, West Ham Newcastle, and Aston Villa in the first half of the 2022–2023 season; the latter two losses occurred in league play.

Both games were 1-0 losses away from home and were marred by controversy, but the circumstances surrounding Newcastle’s winning goal at St. James Park in particular incited ire. Anthony Gordon’s tap-in to cap off that insane sequence allowed VAR to check for an offside, a foul, and if the ball was still in play.

The primary grievance was that Joelinton prevented Gabriel from winning Joe Willock’s cross, which ended up setting Gordon up for a goal. After the game, Arteta commented on the goal, saying, “We have to talk about the result because you have to talk about how the hell this goal stands up and it’s incredible.” “I feel embarrassed but I have to be the one now coming here to try to defend the club and please ask for help, because it’s an absolute disgrace that this goal is allowed; it’s an absolute disgrace.”

Arteta faced a misconduct accusation from the FA due to his remarks, but the Independent Regulatory Commission cleared him of any rule violations. Neville has clearly taken aim at Arsenal supporters by drawing a comparison between that incident and Gabriel’s opening goal.

Neville shared a screenshot of the event on X (previously Twitter) with the description, “Arsenal fans think this is a foul then, [two laughing face emojis].” The replays demonstrate that Gabriel uses both hands to springboard off the back of Chris Richards to win the header.
