Nate Hobbs has been playing cornerback for the Las Vegas Raiders since 2021.
Over his three-year career, he has accumulated 232 combined tackles, three sacks, two interceptions, and 14 passes defended. Hobbs has also developed a deep respect for his position and the NFL legends who preceded him.
Recently, Hobbs appeared on “The Rush Podcast” with Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby. During the show, he was asked to name his Mount Rushmore of all-time great cornerbacks. Initially, he listed Deion Sanders, Darrelle Revis, Charles Woodson, and Champ Bailey but then swapped out Bailey for Rod Woodson.
It’s understandable that Hobbs included both Charles and Rod Woodson, as they both spent part of their careers with the Raiders. Both Woodsons are Hall of Famers and regarded as some of the best corners/safeties in NFL history.
Revis earned the nickname “Revis Island” for his exceptional shutdown abilities during his career, primarily with the New York Jets. Sanders, known as “Prime Time,” is considered one of the greatest cornerbacks ever due to his speed, coverage skills, and charisma, winning two Super Bowls with different teams and also playing in a World Series with the Atlanta Braves.
Hobbs is now gearing up for his fourth season with the Raiders, who aim to improve on their 8-9 record from last year.
