The Baltimore Orioles faced harsh criticism on Friday as a result of an odd series of decisions.
Jackson Holliday, a top prospect and former first pick, was not sent to the major leagues by Baltimore for Opening Day. Unlike Texas and Milwaukee, who will immediately bring up their best prospects for the 2024 season, Baltimore plans to keep the explosive Holliday in the minor leagues.

The Orioles want to maintain several noteworthy prospects in the Minor Leagues in addition to Holliday. Additionally, they sent outfielders Kyle Stowers and Heston Kjerstad to the Minors.
On Friday, MLB.com’s Jake Rill broke the story. Rill stated, “Orioles have optioned OFs Heston Kjerstad and Kyle Stowers to Minors camp and reassigned Jackson Holliday to Minor League camp.”
