Reportedly, Milan striker Olivier Giroud has reached an agreement to join LAFC in MLS on an 18-month contract starting from July 2024, as per sources in Italy.
Giroud, a seasoned center-forward, is set to conclude his current deal with Rossoneri, expiring on June 30. Eager for a fresh challenge in the United States, particularly with Los Angeles FC, Giroud looks forward to embarking on a new chapter in his career.
La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that a preliminary agreement has been established for the 18-month contract, commencing from July 1, upon his free agency status. Giroud, initially joining San Siro from Chelsea in 2021, has been a valuable asset for Milan, contributing 46 goals and 20 assists in 121 competitive appearances.
However, at 38 years old in September, Milan must focus on nurturing younger talents for the future. Despite his age, Giroud showcased his prowess by scoring in France’s recent friendly victory over Chile, reinforcing his status as Les Bleus’ all-time leading scorer.
