Matt Rhule was still in shock at Bill Belichick’s extensive football knowledge.
Coaches clinics offer a priceless forum for coaches from all facets of football to share their expertise. Recently, Matt Rhule and the other attendees of Nebraska football’s Coaches Clinic had a session with Bill Belichick, a real icon of the game.
The event was made more interesting by the attendance of Nebraska football coach Matt Rhule, but the eight-time Super Bowl champion and former head coach of the New England Patriots was the true star of the show.
“He is so smart, and has seen so much, that he can make the complex so simple, and it humbles you and embarrasses you,” Rhule emphasized about Belichick, per Matt Sottile of KETV.
Matt Rhule recapped his experience with Bill Belichick, the guest speaker at yesterday's #Huskers Coaches Clinic.
BB then spent another 4.5 hours 'embarrassing' Rhule with his football knowledge:

“Three and a half hours in, I was like, ‘Coach, would you like … a water? Cup of coffee? Would you like to use the restroom?’ Because I desperately had to use the restroom, and he’s like, ‘I’m fine, Matt,’” Rhule continued.
“And I was like, ‘Yes, sir.’ And just sitting there and just talking, right, and just his recall from 15 years ago. And the only reason why we don’t get through more information is because he’s having to slow down to make sure you understand what he’s saying.
Belichick, for the first time since 1974, the renowned coach found himself without an NFL coaching position following his departure from the Patriots. Even though he was connected to the Atlanta Falcons, Belichick was unemployed for the first time in fifty years.
The decision was made during a difficult season in which the Patriots finished with a 4-13 record and were plagued by offensive problems, communication problems, and quarterback uncertainty. Belichick’s departure from New England was anticipated in light of these circumstances. After this season, it’s unclear if he’ll take up coaching again.
